At Security Public Storage in Bethesda, our building features a flourishing living roof designed to support sustainability and environmental responsibility. The roof was originally installed to help meet Montgomery County greenspace requirements during construction of the 5223 building, but it has grown into something much more meaningful.
Under dedicated stewardship, the living roof is carefully maintained with proper irrigation and seasonal care to ensure it continues to thrive. Today, it is filled with native plantings and wildflowers that enhance insulation, support stormwater management, and promote local biodiversity.
This living roof reflects our long-term commitment to reducing our carbon footprint while building responsibly within the Bethesda community.
