Flammable or Explosive Items
This includes gasoline, kerosene, gun powder, and other flammables or explosives, which pose a serious risk of fire or explosion. For the safety of all tenants and the facility, these are strictly prohibited.

Perishable Goods
Food and drinks can spoil over time and attract pests. This includes not only obvious perishables but also pantry staples like spices, flour, baking supplies, and all types of pet food. Even sealed items can attract rodents and insects. To help prevent infestations, make sure to thoroughly clean anything that has come into contact with food, such as dishes, pans, grills, and kitchen appliances. Even small crumbs, grease, or spills left behind can lead to pest problems.

Used Tires
Used tires are not allowed because they pose a fire hazard and can attract pests by collecting moisture and pooling water, even indoors where humidity can build up over time.

Unwrapped Natural Fiber Rugs
Natural fiber rugs, such as those made of wool, cotton, or jute, can attract moths and other fabric pests if not properly cleaned and stored. To prevent damage, these rugs should be professionally cleaned and tightly wrapped before being placed in storage. Synthetic rugs like polypropylene, nylon, or polyester don’t require the same level of preparation, but we still recommend vacuuming and rolling them to avoid creases.

No, our storage units at Security Public Storage do not typically have electrical outlets or any type of power access. Units are designed for storage use only and cannot support electrical or powered equipment.
While many storage providers allow you to complete the rental process entirely online, we require IDs to be presented in person. By verifying IDs face-to-face, we add an extra layer of security to help protect your belongings from criminals sometimes who will try to use fake IDs to rent units and then exploit their access codes to break into other units. Manually checking IDs allows us to maintain the highest level of safety for all our customers.

Storage Prices FAQS

Storage unit pricing varies by size and location. Find a location near you to view current rates, or contact one of our trained professionals for help choosing the right unit.

We practice honest pricing, which means we have no additional fees on top of the rate that we quote you.

The price we quote you is the price out the door! We never charge admin fees, security deposits or taxes. Insurance is included in the rates online or quoted over the phone.

If you currently rent a storage unit with us, you can earn a $50 referral discount when you refer a friend who rents with us. The best part? You both receive the discount.
